Pan-seared local scallops at Tempo – The Boston Globe

The diversity of restaurants in Waltham can be almost overwhelming, even if it’s a good thing. Moody Street’s Tempo, in the spot for 10 years and recently renovated, is an ideal destination if you want a little bit of everything all in one place. With dishes that range from Asian to European influences, and some of the best modern-American styles, Tempo offers something for everyone. One specialty is the pan-seared New Bedford sea scallops ($26), with shaved Brussels sprouts and house-cured bacon on a creamy turnip puree, finished with sweet apple-cider butter sauce.
