Warm breezes, bird songs, and lively parks beckon us outdoors. For picnic provisioning, Jason Owens, owner of Bee’s Knees Supply Co. in Fort Point, has everything you’ll need. He recommends the bounty in his cases: cheeses, charcuterie, fruits, snacks, chocolates, and mixed nuts. His staff is prepared to help you curate the perfect basket. “We work well with customers and try to cater to their needs,” says Owen. When it’s really hot, he says, “not all cheeses hold well.” If you’re picnicking in your own yard, Owens recommends drinking bubbles. “Cava would be very economical,“ he says, explaining that “it’s a nice kind of spring/summer white wine and it doesn’t have to be super chilled either.”

Bee’s Knees, which is opening its second location in Allston’s Green District neighborhood later this month, sees a variety of customers at Fort Point: hikers, bikers, and boaters. “It’s like their neighborhood general store,” says Owens. “We point them in the right directions whether it’s a cheese platter or a wine pairing.”

The new store, a “cool building,” says the owner, will have a different feel than the original, which caters mostly to a business lunch crowd. Allston, he says, is between Boston University and Boston College, and “is a different neighborhood, a different demographic.” He thinks his brands will be a perfect fit for the new locale. “What we really want is for people to feel good about where they live, and what’s available to them in their neighborhood.” Bee’s Knees Supply Co. 12 Farnsworth St., Fort Point, Boston, 617-292-2337, and later this month at 1316 Commonwealth Ave., Boston,
