Krave Jerky isn’t the convenience store variety you grab at the check-out counter. It’s an all-natural, low-salt jerky made from lean cuts of beef, turkey, and pork. Marinated and baked slowly until dried, but moist and tender, Krave ($6.99 for 3.25 ounces) comes in flavors like sweet chipotle, chile-lime, basil-citrus, lemon-garlic and black-cherry-barbecue. While training for the New York Marathon six years ago, Jon Sebastiani, 44 (fourth-generation of a Sonoma, Calif., wine family), the founder of the Sonoma company, snacked on beef jerky he ordered from a butcher. He came up with his version of the high-protein snack and launched the product. Perfect for the gym or ski slopes.
