Loyal Nine (660 Cambridge St. at Fulkerson Street), specializing in “East Coast Revival” cuisine, is slated to open this week in East Cambridge, helmed by chef-owner Marc Sheehan (Brasstacks supper club, Bondir Cambridge, Fort Point’s Menton). A release promises “lesser known shellfish, vegetables, and meats” like lobster with shagbark hickory nuts and pickled mackerel. Wines will be available by the glass and carafe, and there will be an assortment of traditional ciders; Hungry Mother alum Rebecca Theris oversees the wine program. Bryn Tattan, from Union Square cocktail destination Backbar and the South End’s Merrill & Co., presides over a rum-and-brandy-focused bar program. There’s also a daily cafe open at 8 a.m. serving Dark Matter coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches.
Haim Cohen of Brookline kosher restaurant Rami’s (324 Harvard St. at Babcock Street) will open Cold Press Juice & Salad Bar next door. Inspired by trips to Los Angeles, he’ll serve kosher, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly salads, stews, soups, and sandwiches, plus cold-pressed juices. “It’ll be a very laidback, California vibe, with upscale vegetarian food: gorgeous colors and amazing flavors,” he says. The restaurant will be open 7 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday though Thursday, 7 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Friday, and will close on Saturdays. Cohen hopes to open in mid-April.
