Whose Idea “Many people ask who I’d love to cook for, if I had the chance — like, which celebrity,” says Maws, who also runs Cambridge’s Craigie on Main. “The answer is simple: my grandparents. To say they were close to me doesn’t begin to describe it. They were my idols.” His maternal grandmother, Baba Hannah, was a vivacious woman and a tremendous cook. Charlie enjoyed a good time, too. “My grandfather didn’t drink a ton, but I have fond memories of showing up for a holiday and him having a scotch. And this photo just fit the Kirkland vibe,” Maws says. “I wish they could see what I’m doing now.”
